Acting Locally for Peace Globally

Latest Headlines from MyAntiWar.org

Pacifica Peace People (PPP) was formed in early June of 2003. Some of us were among the 150 who participated in the worldwide candlelight vigil on March 16, 2003. On March 22, several of us began standing every Saturday at Manor and Palmetto, joining with the international “Women in Black” in silent witness against war Many of us signed the anti-war ad of April 09, 2003 in the Pacifica Tribune.

Our attention is still focused on raising awareness of our nation's misguided foreign policy in the Middle East. We can not sit idly by while our government steals the natural resources and honor of other nations. Join us in educating ourselves from voices outside the mainstream, and support our efforts to create a better, more peaceful world.

Pacifica Peace People (PPP) is asking that the Pacifica City Council pass a resolution calling for full U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.

There are already 300 American cities on record opposing U.S. intervention in Iraq.

Through June year 2008, the cost of the war to the City of Pacifica is $114 million. And there’s no end in sight. PPP would like to show our City Council that the citizens of Pacifica support making Pacifica a City for Peace. To that end, we would appreciate it if you would sign our petition asking the City Council to pass a resolution calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. Signed petitions will be presented at a future City Council meeting.

Please click on this paragraph to download a PDF of the petition. Print and sign the petition and get friends and family to sign, too. The only criterion is that you be a resident of Pacifica.
